Gerhard Fink has been professor of international business (1993-2009) at WU-Wien, i.e. the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

 

 Activities during 1967-1990 comprise research into economics of communist countries in Europe, with focus on organization of the communist planning system and on hard currency debt of communist countries; followed by a business consultancy focused on investment projects in the post-communist countries during 1990-1994. During the period 1990 until his retirement in 2009 a focus of his research was on financial market development in Europe, investment projects in Eastern Europe, EU enlargement, and on differences in management behavior across and within European countries.
He has about 284 publications to his credit in learned journals and has edited or co-edited 26 books or special issues in learned journals. His current research interests emerged focus on 'systems thinking applied to management' including cybernetic mindset agency theory, normative personality, organizational culture, cultural change and cultural variation within social systems  and, since 2009, in cooperation with Maurice Yolles, produced 54 publications so far on this topic.
