Professor Ockie Bosch is Honorary Professor of Systems Design and Complexity Management at the University of Adelaide (Australia). He is  a practicing scientist since more than 43 years. He is currently Chair of the International Committee for Systems Education,  President of the International Society for the Systems Sciences and an Academician of the International Academy for and Systems and Cybernetics Sciences.

Ockie Bosch was born in Pretoria, South Africa. He went to live in Australia in 1979 where he was an invited senior visiting scientist with the CSIRO in Alice Springs.

He was Professor and Head of the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Potchefstroom in South Africa from 1985 to 1993 and Head of the Department of Life Sciences of the University of South Africa (dual position) from 1990 to 1993. In 1993 he became a Research Director in Landcare New Zealand, and moved to Queensland in 2000 to become Professor in Natural Systems at The University of Queensland.
